Every year, Eclipse gives us a reason to step away from screens, deadlines and time zones, and spend a few days in the same place as one team. This year, that place was Palma de Mallorca — and the dress code involved a pirate flag.
Three countries, one crew
Colleagues from Switzerland, Portugal and Poland made the trip. Eclipse is the one moment in the year when the whole group is in the same room, which means a lot of first handshakes between people who had only ever met in a Teams thread.
The city as a game board
The first challenge turned Palma itself into the playing field. Mixed teams spread across the city, solving their way through it — and mixed is the operative word. Half the point of Eclipse is ending up on a team with people you don’t work with every day.
Recognising the work
The awards ceremony gave us a chance to stop and name things out loud: the projects that went further than expected, and the people who carried them there. It’s easy to let a good year pass without saying so. Eclipse makes sure we say so.
And then, the sea
The boat trip was the part with no agenda, which is usually where the best conversations happen. No slides, no objectives — just the group, the water, and a few hours of not being in a hurry.
Further Together
Eclipse works because it isn’t about the destination or the theme. It’s about the reminder that a group spread across three countries still functions as one crew — and that the trust built over a few days in August tends to show up in the work for the rest of the year.
